Luxury Bed and Breakfast surrounded by the Countryside

The Firs Farmhouse is a charming, lovingly restored 16th century grade 11 listed farmhouse. It has many original features and is part moated, the moat being an ancient monument and is set in 3 acres with uninterrupted views across the gentle Suffolk countryside.
We have two beautiful double bedrooms which are furnished in keeping with the age of the farmhouse. Both rooms have views across this peaceful and tranquil part of Suffolk. In the Georgian room you can linger in the antique bedstead taking in the views and in the Tudor room your four poster bed is ideal to imagine a time many years ago when the ingle nook fireplace was actually used.
We have a breakfast award, given by Visit Britain, which highlights the fact that we take the food we offer seriously and take great pleasure in ensuring that it is of the highest standard. Sausages and bacon are made by a local butcher using free range pork and eggs are happily provided by our own free range chickens (many being rescued battery hens).
Guests have the exclusive use of the elegant parlour where you can sit back on the enormous sofa sipping a glass of wine and of the dining room where you can have breakfast served in front of a roaring log fire. During your stay with us you will be using the front door which again is exclusively for you. We have been told by local people that before we restored the farmhouse the front door had not been opened in living memory.
We love our old farmhouse and the wonderful county of Suffolk. The people, the countryside, the heritage coast make for an idyllic setting for you to enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You will immediately notice the lack of light pollution and be amazed at the night sky as well as the diverse wildlife which can include egrets, barn owls and deer.
We keep geese but ‘do not fear’ we don’t keep them to guard our home you will however be able to see them across the moat in their own paddock along with the chickens and possibly our mad rescued Jack Russellish dog who we are convinced was a footballer in a previous life. As you look across the moats you may even be lucky and see the flash of turquoise blue as our resident kingfishers swoop by.
We hope our desire to make people happy comes across in our warm welcome, our hospitality, the care with give to all aspects of your stay, and of course our scrumptious breakfasts.
